Vacuum degasser for drilling fluid processing, as you can tell from the name, is a special device to get rid of the gas in drilling fluid, just like the desander is used to get rid of sands in drilling fluid. Vacuum degasser for drilling fluid processing applies to all types of mud purification system. It plays a very important role in recovering the proportion of mud, steadying viscosity performance of fluid and reducing drilling cost. At the same time, it can also be used as a high-power blender when the drilling fluid has no gas.
During drilling operations the drilling fluid from the wells usually carries gas, which would affect the slurry performance and lead to hidden dangerous problems. The drilling fluid with gas also affects the service life of equipment. Therefore it’s necessary to install vacuum degasser for drilling fluid processing in the mud circulating system so as to remove gas in drilling fluid. Vacuum degasser forms negative pressure in a vacuum tank by using pumping action of vacuum pump. Drilling fluid go through the suction pipe into the hollow shaft under the influence of the atmospheric pressure.
Then the jet of drilling fluid is thrown to the tank wall. The bubbles immersing in the drilling fluid break up under the action of collision, then the gas is discharged to safety by the vacuum pump. The drilling fluid is discharged out of the tank by the impeller after separator of vacuum degasser for drilling fluid processing discharge gas to safety. Because the main motor start first and impeller connected with motor rotates in a high speed, drilling fluid can only get into the tank from the suction tube and will not be sucked from the drainage tube.
The maintenance of vacuum degasser for drilling fluid processing in daily use is more important than the repair after it breaks down. So I’d like to introduce several tips about the maintenance.
Firstly, the vacuum degasser for drilling fluid processing should be washed after use. The rotor and the suction pipe in the vacuum tank should be cleaned. You should cut off the power supply, remove the blocking plate of the hole, and check components whether it is damage or not. You could wash the tank wall and the rotor by using high-pressure pipe. All the cleaning work should be done after each use to ensure the normal use.
Secondly, the top cover of vacuum tank should be cleaned once a week in order to avoid debris blocking the gas channel. When it is washed by water, you should rinse off the vacuum line and remove the screw plug and table seat. High pressure pipe is inserted into it for 3~5 minutes each time.
Thirdly, for the vacuum pump, you should always check working condition of bearing and lubrication condition. The bearing is 15~20 degrees higher than ambient temperature on normal working condition. When working temperature of vacuum degasser for drilling fluid processing is higher than 30 degrees, you should always check the vacuum gauge, replace water in separator of steam and water in time, and maintain the water temperature less than 35 degrees.
